It’s been a long time between drinks for the Kirra Surfriders club who took out the Rip Curl Kirra teams Challenge today. Their surfers winning seven out of eight heats surfed over the three-day event.
Pro surfers Mick Fanning, Adrian Buchan and Josh Kerr took out their heats for their clubs late Friday afternoon
The 2008 Ripcurl Kirra teams Challenge is set to start tomorrow . With 30 surfboard riders clubs from all over Australia, it is the world’s largest event of its kind.
In a huge upset only an hour ago, 15 year old Hawaiian surfer Carissa Moore continued her giant killing spree by beating world Champ Stephanie Gilmore in their round 3 heat.
Stephanie Gilmore posted a high score of 9.17!! winning her heat and moving through to the third round, letting every one know she is keen to defend her title. Steph looked right at home today at one of her local haunts Duranbah beach .
